Ratton is one of the most popular schools in East Sussex with a very strong reputation for building student confidence and providing rich opportunities for students and staff to succeed. We are looking to appoint a dedicated and dynamic teacher to join our creative Ethics (Religious Studies) department. You should be a confident classroom teacher who is able to teach a multi-faith syllabus that is relevant and engaging. All our students complete a programme of Religious Studies: at Key Stage 3 they are timetabled for Religious Education and at KS4 students are timetabled for Ethics, which includes the delivery of the OCR Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics) full course GCSE. The Ethics course also includes the statutory components of the Citizenship and PSHE frameworks, therefore experience of these subjects would be an advantage, but is not essential. We are a well resourced department with detailed Schemes of Work and a creative approach to teaching. All the Religious Studies classrooms are equipped with data projectors and so you will be used to preparing material that makes use of this resource. You will have the opportunity to teach in a "good" school (OfSTED April 2013) that is popular and developing with confident, creative and caring students.
