SPECIALIST ADVISOR (CIVIL ENGINEER – COASTAL and DRAINAGE)

Maternity cover – up to 12 months

As a member of the Specialist Advisory Team, you will be providing specialist advice on a range of issues relating to coastal protection and land drainage.

You will assist with the inspection of Eastbourne’s seafront and coastal defence assets, preparation of repair and maintenance schedules and management of contracts for the works. 

With a degree in Civil Engineering or environmental science or equivalent you will have knowledge and some experience of the following:-

• coastal protection
• flood defences
• contract management
• surface management and storage
• budget management and monitoring
• determining and organising emergency works and preventative measures

You will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to network, consult and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders and outside bodies.
