As a member of the Specialist Advisory Team, you will be providing customer focused specialist advice on a range of housing benefits issues and cases.

You will be managing complex or difficult claims and enquiries, dealing with appeals and discretionary housing payments, preparing for and representing the council at tribunals, monitoring subsidy expenditure and dealing with complaints. You will also collaborate on projects, service policy and strategy and support and mentor those delivering the service across the council.

You will have a proven track record in a housing benefits environment and a good knowledge of Openrevenues software or an alternative benefits system. With good communication skills, you will be proactive and have a strong commitment to the provision of excellent customer service.
