We are currently looking to recruit a Practice Manager to manage the Children’s Services Single Point of Access (SPOA) Team based at St. Mark’s House, Eastbourne.

You will be joining a newly developed service, with experienced managers, at an exciting time for Children’s Services and multi-agency working.

Our Children’s Services are rated as one of the highest performing authorities in the South and recently won 2 Local Government Chronicle Awards for services to children and business transformation around the early help agenda. This achievement demonstrates that children all across East Sussex are really benefitting from our services.

We are looking for a highly motivated social work professional that may be a Senior Social Worker ready to take their first step into management or an experienced manager who will have strong management and leadership skills to provide excellent services that improve outcomes for our children and young people.

The SPOA is a team of qualified social workers, Early Help workers and unqualified social work staff. The SPOA is the first point of contact countywide for members of the public, schools and other early help professionals who are worried about the welfare of a child. The SPOA will screen all of these newly received Initial Contacts and make decisions about where these needs sit on a Continuum of Need. You will be responsible for deciding which cases require further consideration and action by a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and which can be best met through early help based support.
