As Teacher of Art and Design Technology you will join a strong, growing team of inspirational teachers and ensure that our students enjoy and achieve highly in their Art and Design Technology learning. You are likely to be an Art specialist in the secondary phase and ideally you can teach this subject to A Level. You should also possess the skills and enthusiasm for teaching another Design Technology subject - Food Technology, Product Design, Resistant Materials or Textiles – possibly to A Level, to GCSE or at least KS3.

As such, you need to have flexibility and adaptability in terms of new ideas and approaches and a willingness to work with other Departments in the school, including Science and Mathematics. As an all-through school, our teachers also have the opportunity to engage with and enhance the primary creative arts curriculum. If you have additional experience in this phase of education, we are keen to hear from you.

Gildredge House has begun to look for opportunities to develop formative relationships with our wider community through the medium of Art and Design Technology. The school has already developed links with groups such as Eastbourne Studio Pottery with the opportunity for future meaningful collaboration with which you may be keen to be involved.
