About the Role

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service prides itself on keeping communities safe through its response, protection and prevention activities. We are a high performing Service facing challenging times due to funding reductions.

Reporting in to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, this is an opportunity to shape and lead an Organisational Development function whose key objectives are to deliver a strategic, modern, proactive and valued OD function for the Service during these demanding times.

Specifically you will develop and lead a range of activities and interventions that will focus on employee engagement and workforce planning. The role will also be instrumental in embedding a refreshed Inclusion and Diversity Strategy that complements the Service values.

We are seeking an individual with knowledge and experience of OD methodologies and techniques, as well as the ability to steer and deliver a range of OD interventions successfully. Skills in communication, engagement and planning are required as well as practical skills in developing and delivering core OD initiatives.

You will need to be both a team player and leader, able to build strong internal and external working relationships. Not only will you be positive about change and transformation, you will appreciate that your role in the Service will change as we embark on the journey needed to deliver an evolved Service for the future.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
