About the Role

Do you want to make a difference to the safety and lives of people in East Sussex?

This is a really exciting and unique opportunity to work within a multi-agency team (Safer East Sussex Team), working with Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service representatives to support the Safer Communities Partnership.

The Safer Communities Partnership is responsible for establishing a vision and strategy aimed at reducing crime, anti-social behaviour, re-offending, and substance misuse. You will have a key role to play in this work by making actions happen and ensuring the Safer Communities Partnership to operates effectively and achieves its objectives.

The post holder will assist in the development and implementation of plans and strategies aimed at improving Community Safety and Violence Substance Misuse.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of partnership working with stakeholders across voluntary, statutory, community and business sectors.

You will also be a real self-starter with proven project development and management skills and the ability to get results. Experience in developing, delivering and evaluating multi-agency action plans and working effectively with a broad range of organisations will also be important.

This post is subject to Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 2.

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit.
