Care for the Carers are seeking to recruit a dynamic Senior Parent Carer Support Worker to set up and deliver our Parent Carers Project, to be a pioneer for parent carers and to join our established outreach team providing information and advice to unpaid carers across East Sussex. The role involves providing one-to-one and group support to parent carers, joint working with our partners in the NHS, Social Care and the voluntary sector, and working with colleagues to secure continuation funding.
The successful applicant/s will be a skilled communicator with excellent IT and organisational skills. Experience of working in the community will be a distinct advantage, as is experience of advocating on behalf of vulnerable clients. An understanding of parent carers’ needs and rights is essential.
As you will be required to travel within East Sussex, being a car driver is essential. This post is subject to a DBS check. As this is a fixed term opportunity, we are willing to consider secondment opportunities.
