Hours of work: 28.75 hours per week Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only. (As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

About the Role

The Parkland Federation are looking to appoint two Behaviour and Learning Mentors, one to be temporary in the first instance, from January 2017 to July 2017.

The Governing Body seek to appoint a hardworking, creative, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to support children’s behaviour and learning within our school.

Working under the guidance of the SENCo you would be expected to:

  • Improve the behaviour and well being of individual pupils.
  • Support pupils who are experiencing learning difficulties.
  • Support learning at school and encourage links between home and school.
  • Support the school in improving the attendance & punctuality of identified pupils.
  • Improve the process of transition into, within and beyond school settings.

The ideal candidate will have had experience of working from teachers’ planning, and delivering sessions for groups of pupils. You must be someone who is able to show that they enjoy being with children, has patience and a positive attitude – whilst able to work as part of a small, committed team.

As part of East Sussex’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, all employees employed within schools are required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
