About the Role
LECTURER IN SURVEYING, CONSTRUCTION & BUILT ENVIRONMENT (Eastbourne Campus)
£22.52 to £23.90 per hour. Fixed term, variable hours contract.
The Construction Department at Sussex Downs College has part-time vacancies for professionals in Construction/Planning/Civil Engineering to teach technician-level students and apprentices as part of our successful Construction and the Built Environment provision. We require people with experience and skills in the following areas: construction-related surveying, site management, setting out, quantity surveying, mathematics for construction, civil engineering.
Currently there are around 12 hours of teaching per week available in these subject areas. Whilst teaching at Level 3 or 4 and familiarity with BTEC assessment methodology is desirable, training is available for the right candidate.
We also have a need to engage work-placed assessors to take on an apprentice caseload. Once again, training will be available for the candidate with the right skill set.
These vacancies may be filled by a single individual possessing the right mix of skills or by two or three individuals wishing to undertake some of the functions as part-time work. The roles would suit experienced and enthusiastic professionals wishing to make a start in teaching or wishing to expand their services, skills and experience into the educations and skills sector. They would also be relevant to a business response.
This post is subject to a DBS check.
