Job Details

Salary: Four point salary range starting at point 15 on the Gildredge House Support Staff Scale 2016-17: 2,003 pro rata (16,623 Full Time Equivalent) which equates to 9.10 per hour, rising to point 18 2,141 pro rata (17,769 Full Time Equivalent) which equates to 9.73 per hour.

Note: Governors have recently approved an additional 0.5% pay increase in addition to the national standard of living increase in 2017-18. Contract type:  Permanent Working pattern: Part time 220 hours per year

About the Role

We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Clerk to the Governing Board as part of our Administration team, providing an outstanding level of support service to our school community.

As our Clerk to the Governing Board you will need to have the ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritising effectively, working independently and maintaining accuracy. Proven administrative experience is essential including minute-taking, records-keeping, letter and report-writing. Above all, our Governing Board requires someone with exceptional communicative, organisational and inter-personal skills. Also vital to the role are the personal qualities of tact, discretion and integrity, particularly with regard to sensitive information and matters.

If you already have good working knowledge of Governing Board procedures as well as education legislation and guidance, we would be particularly keen to hear from you. If, on the other hand, you have work experience which demonstrates the ability to gather, analyse and present information accurately and you are committed to the training which the role of Clerk to the Governors requires, then you should certainly not be put off applying for this post. In essence we need our Clerk to the Governing Board to be committed to developing in this crucial role, with a willingness to build on administrative skills and experience which are already strong.

As Clerk to the Governing Board, you will be required to attend meetings at times convenient to the relevant members of the Governing Board. Otherwise, the hours are flexible around the independent working practices of the Clerk.

Additional Information
