About the Role

Are you looking for the next step in your ICT career within the Education Sector?  If you have good experience and knowledge of ICT systems and equipment, we want to hear from you.  We are looking for a Local Support Technician to join our growing, friendly and hardworking team.

Covering everything from desktop and server work to installation, maintenance and monitoring. This is a varied role that will ensure our customers benefit from an effective, efficient ICT support service. You will use a variety of remote technologies as well as undertake onsite visits.

A large element of this job is building professional relationships and delivering high quality customer service.  It’s all about liaising with school staff, working closely with fellow team members and meeting SLA’s.  Naturally, you’ll need proven ICT skills – both with hardware and software, but equally important is the ability to communicate well at all levels.

This role involves frequent daily travel in rural and urban areas in the South East, and applicants must clearly demonstrate how they will meet the travel requirements of the post.

Additional Information

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.

Equal Opportunities

East Sussex County Council is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. All applications are treated on merit.

Information for redeployees

If you wish to discuss the above position in more detail or be considered for redeployment into this post, please contact your HR Advisor.
