About the Role

Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are welcome to apply

We are looking to appoint three exceptional candidates to the post of Primary Class Teacher for our new and expanding 4-19 free school. These are full-time positions but part-time may also be available for the suitable candidate.

Our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgement (June 2015) was only the start of the story. The challenge is to sustain and embed this excellence through every aspect of Gildredge House as it grows to full capacity in 2018/19.

As a Primary Class Teacher at Gildredge House you will be expected to provide stimulating and academically rigorous teaching, particularly with regard to differentiation for students of different abilities and the increased use of ICT. You will work within the Lower School Team to implement the Cambridge Primary Curriculum with key skills at the core, whilst keeping up-to-date with current developments in content and methods of a creative curriculum. You will also make a full and dynamic contribution to the Lower School and its extra-curricular activities.

This post could be in any of the five year groups from Reception to Year 4, depending on the experience and skills you can provide our team. Therefore please make clear your preference on your application form. If you are successful in becoming a member of the Lower School Team, we do expect all our staff to develop their skills and therefore flexibility will be required in future years as to where you are placed.

We moved into our brand-new purpose-built extension for the Lower School in October 2014 and this, together with a Sports Hall, Multi-Use Performance Space and landscaped outdoor areas for fun and physical activity, make up an exceptional learning environment for our students.

OUR ETHOS

At Gildredge House each individual is known and valued. Students are inspired to discover their passions and realise their academic potential. If you are an imaginative and dynamic practitioner - with a passion for teaching, the capability of engaging and enthusing all students and the belief that everyone can succeed - we want to hear from you.

GILDREDGE HOUSE OFFERS:

- Continuity of education for boys and girls aged 4-19

- An expectation of high academic standards leading to Sixth Form studies

- Strong discipline

- Specialist teaching in key subject areas of the Lower School curriculum, including a Modern Foreign Language, Sport and Music

- An extended school day and supervised prep for older students

- A broad range of extra-curricular activities

OUR SCHOOL MOTTO: 'ASPIRE'
