About the Role

Spiritual Support Lead

32,500 per annum

37.5 hours per week (including some out-of-hours, part time considered)

St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides end of life support to the population of Eastbourne and the surrounding parts of East Sussex, from our stunning hospice building and through our highly skilled community teams. We are rated an ‘outstanding’ provider by the Care Quality Commission and have a clear vision of reaching increasing numbers of local patients and their families, in close collaboration with our community. Spiritual support is a crucial component of the excellent holistic care we strive to deliver.

We are seeking a forward-thinking and ambitious Lead of Spiritual Support who will help us build on and broaden the work of previous chaplains, to further embed spiritual support, across all faiths and for individuals of no faith, in the ethos of the organisation.

You will bring substantial demonstrable life experience within spiritual support, relevant leadership and service development experience, and some counselling experience. From a strong person-centred stance, you will be confident in meeting individuals’ own religious or spiritual needs, both in person and crucially, by empowering others to do so. You will have a firm commitment to working collaboratively, both internally and through engagement with our local community.
