About the Role

We require a motivated Senior Science Technician at Causeway School to join our Science Department.

You will have had previous lab technician experience and be responsible for implementing systems to ensure practical science lessons can be taught effectively. You will have part-time support of another lab technician and will be responsible for directing the work they do. You will join the Science Department of 6 science teachers, delivering science lessons from year 7 to year 11 students and will be an integral member of the team.

You will be a team player who is forward thinking. Your responsibilities include ensuring equipment and materials are maintained in good order and in a safe condition and that adequate levels of materials and equipment are available for use by teachers and students. You will monitor stock levels and complete purchase orders in consultation with the Head of Science. You will keep stores well organised and hazardous substances labelled and kept in a safe place, fume cupboards safe and preparation rooms tidy. You will have good knowledge of CLEAPSS guidance and COSHH regulations and implement them in your day to day work.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
