About the Role

An opportunity has arisen to join a unique team of Social Workers delivering Professional Education across Adults and Children’s Services in East Sussex. This county-wide role supports student placements and the ASYE programme as well as linking in to practice development and research work within Local Authority and beyond.

We are looking for creative and flexible Social Workers who can provide an excellent level of teaching and support to those starting out in the profession.

At East Sussex County Council we are enthusiastic about and committed to partnership working with neighbouring local authorities and universities. As a result the government granted us Teaching Partnership status which has strengthened our social work workforce through student learning hubs, practice development and action research.

Recent innovations and successful developments include:

- The introduction of the Social Work Academy, creating a practice development pathway from social work student to the most experienced social work leader;

- Practitioners who Teach Programme - supporting the development of social workers as teachers, trainers and consultants at universities and within East Sussex;

- Student Learning Hub – integrating university learning with day to day practice;

- Introduction of team-based Learning – providing bespoke practice development at the team level;

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
