About the Role

Our Academy opened in November 2013 in Partnership with the Hastings Academy Trust, the main sponsor being the University of Brighton.

We are a National Talk for Writing Lead School and we use this approach to children’s learning.

The role:

  • Class teacher including planning, teaching and assessing pupils.
  • Experience of Key Stage 1 or 2
  • Willingness  to reflect on and develop further teaching and learning including videoing and sharing best practice
  • Suitable for NQTs.  Support, training and mentoring provided with access to University of Brighton CPD

The requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have completed or be completing training as a teacher
  • Be highly motivated with an ability to demonstrate excellent classroom   practice
  • Be committed to raising standards and ensuring children achieve their best
  • Enjoy being part of a team and have a positive attitude
  • Have genuine passion and belief in the potential of every student
  • Knowledge of teaching of writing skills using the 'Talk for Writing’ approach
