About the Role

The Governors would like to appoint a Forest School/Outdoor Learning Practitioner who can deliver exciting forest school and outdoor learning activities. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual who enjoys working with children and can share their love of forest school and learning in the outdoors. You will run an engaging forest school and outdoor activities, on our school site for groups of children from Reception to Year 6. You will contribute to assessment and liaise with class teachers to support children's academic progress and emotional well-being. A forest school qualification would be preferable but not essential as in house training will be provided.

Candidates need to demonstrate:

• A creative approach to the outdoor curriculum and deliver learning in exciting ways
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
• A commitment to working as part of a team
• The ability to support planning and resourcing structured outdoor learning opportunities for EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• To liaise with school staff to plan and deliver outdoor learning
• The ability to maintain the forest school area
• Recent and relevant primary school experience

This is a 52 week contract to ensure that the suitable candidate can run pupil holiday clubs as agreed by Headteacher.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations. 

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
