Harvey John is working exclusively with an established Sussex based SME client on sourcing a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to join their expanding business in a newly created role. This privately-owned business is going from strength to strength and creating a leading reputation within their professional services sector.

This will be a standalone position, reporting directly into the Managing Director, with responsibility for all daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks. You could easily recruit a Finance Assistant to support you in the future. They can offer a dynamic, collaborative office environment of long-standing staff who pride themselves on the enjoyable working environment they have created.

The business is currently going through an exciting phase of growth. It's an excellent time to be joining them and help the Managing Director steer the organisation to the next stage, implement improvements and refining processes as you go.

Overview of duties:

• Bank account reconciliation
• PL/SL/banking
• Month end process
• Monthly payroll
• Petty cash reconciliation
• Credit control
• Calculate and post all journals, such as prepayments, accruals and depreciation on Sage Line 50
• Completing quarterly VAT returns
• Preparation of P11d returns for submission by Accountant
• Monitoring Cash Flow and Cash Flow reporting
• Monthly expenses
• Process PAYE/NIC payments to HMRC
• Process Corporation Tax payments
• Produce half-yearly set of Financial Statements
• Assist Accountant with the Preparation of Year End Accounts and run year end on Sage Line 50
• Running year end in Sage Line 50 and posting opening balances
• Assist Compliance Manager file Regulatory Return and provide financial data required
• Providing ad-hoc MI reports to Directors
