Senior Compliance Associate

Salary £45,000-50,000 (negotiable) + up to 20% annual bonus

A prominent, highly reputable insurance business based in London is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join them in the newly created role of role of Senior Compliance Associate.

Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, this individual will join a small team of 3 and have a very varied role which is of pivotal importance to the business. The breadth of duties and level of responsibility are attractive attributes of the role. In addition, you will be offered good opportunities for progression to more senior positions within the team as the role develops.

Role overview (full JD available):

  • To prepare and coordinate regulatory reports, submissions and applications
  • To keep abreast of regulatory developments and assess the potential impact
  • To handle ad hoc complaints that are received
  • To provide support to assist the Head of Compliance in ensuring the Group companies comply with The Insurance Companies Act and any other external regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • 4+ years' experience of working in the wholesale insurance market within a compliance function, ideally in a board role
  • Good people skills – able to deal with people face to face and on the telephone, the ability to be helpful, clear and firm and a persuasive negotiator
  • Methodical and careful approach
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Self-motivating and can work with limited oversight
  • Understands key requirements of PRA/FCA Handbook and SII
  • Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint to intermediate level
