Are you looking for an exciting and varied role over the summer holidays?

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and proactive staff to join our Seasonal Visitor Experience Team.

 In this role, you will be expected to work in either some or all of the following areas:

  • Running new and exciting events for the public during the school holidays

  • The café & retail shop, providing a welcoming and commercial environment for our customers.

  • The open farm, maintaining the farm as a visitor attraction

You will work at our purpose-built Country Centre in the heart of the South Downs, based just outside Chichester.

The centre is open Monday - Sunday, this is zero hours post as hours will vary according to demand.

Salary - £5.50 per hour (under 18), £7 per hour (18-20), £9.20 per hour (21-22) and £10.26 per hour (23 and over) (Subject to change in April 2023 in accordance with the Government’s National Minimum Wage)

A typical work week would include:

  • Zero Hours, working 5 days from 7 during peak times (dependent on rotas), including some evenings, weekends and public holidays.

 

On Events

We hold many exciting events up at the country centre for our customers to enjoy including BounceAbout, Reptile Day, our Halloween Spooktacular and Foam Party (and many more!) 

  • Setting up, running and breaking down of each event day, ensuring all health and safety checks are in place and are being adhered to by customers, the people we support and our staff.

On the Farm

Our open farm is home to many amazing animals, including goats, pigs, donkeys, ponies, chickens/Turkeys and Guinea Pigs!

  • Offering farm team support with feeding of the animals, cleaning out and usual daily routines at set times throughout the day

The Café/Shop

Up at the country centre we have a unique gift shop, selling gifts, children’s toys and many handmade items made on site by staff and the people we support! Our café on site serves hot food/sandwiches, hot drinks and cakes, and the most incredible homemade sausage rolls!

  • Offering support to either the shop team in selling entrance tickets/gift items or to the café team by taking orders, serving food, clearing tables and washing up.

A helping hand

Throughout any role you take at the Trust, you will always have a few pairs of hands to help! The people we support work in each of the departments on site and are so important to us. It is our job to make sure we are there to support them in their day-to-day routines and encourage independent thinking and working. The people we support do everything we do, from building, baking, planting and helping to run events. They are knowledgeable in their roles and will always enjoy helping others, especially new members of staff. They may even teach you a thing or two!
