UX/UI Designer - Full time

Are you a UX/UI Designer looking for the next problem to solve? Are you ready to push the boundaries and help accelerate Goodwood’s digital growth?

About the role

Goodwood’s mission is simple, we want to be the home of exceptional experiences. We’re inspired by our heritage and are continuously striving to do things even better.

As part of this commitment we’re continuing our digital transformation with bigger and bolder ambitions, with the team now focusing on transforming the way our customers purchase from us. This is a truly exciting opportunity for someone like you to drive positive change and have a real impact

The majority of your work will involve designing and prototyping - testing components, templates and user flows for our websites, whilst also working alongside our UX Manager to identify opportunities and drive change. Together, with the support of agency partners, you’ll be crafting high-quality designs, creating accessible experiences for our customers and fans across the entire spectrum of the business.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about design and technology, naturally curious, and motivated to create exceptional digital experiences. You know that design is a critical element of any successful product, and you want to use your skills to create beautiful, frictionless experiences that delight our customers. You’ll have an eagle eye for detail and an ability to turn complex problems into simple solutions. You understand that good design is not just about making things pretty - it's about making them work better for people.

You’ll be based at The Goodwood Motor Circuit and be surrounded by endless inspiration across our 11,000 acre Estate. We’re driven by a commitment to create digital experiences as extraordinary as our world-leading events and believe that no great experience is delivered alone, instead being highly engaged and collaborative in everything we do, focused on crafting truly exceptional user experiences that we believe play an instrumental role in the future of Goodwood.

What you’ll get up to

  • Be a key player in this team, transforming business objectives and user requirements into impactful user journeys. You'll design intuitive experiences, craft compelling visuals, and turn concepts into actionable solutions.
  • Validate and iterate on designs using research and data wherever possible and supporting our experimentation program to learn and maximise opportunity.
  • Adopt a pragmatic approach, balancing the ideal user experience with strategic trade-offs based on technical constraints, experimentation priorities, and business risk management.
  • Collaborate regularly using strong communication, documentation, and facilitation skills. You’ll work with the Digital team, Marketing, Brand, Data, and Insight departments and external development agencies to bring Goodwood’s brand to life online, deeply involving them throughout the design process.

Qualities you will possess

  • Passionate, positive and friendly with a ‘can do attitude’
  • Highly analytical with impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently balanced with a desire to learn and develop your career with other in-house experts
  • Ability to prioritise and organise your work
  • Proactive thinker, always looking at how we can innovate and improve our digital experiences
  • Confident to make decisions, stand by them and get the relevant buy-in from stakeholders.
  • A naturally creative thinker, willing and able to find graceful solutions to technical problems
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects at once and able to switch focus to adapt to shifting business priorities
  • A love for tackling ambiguous problems and shaping them into clear goals

What do you need to be successful?

  • Demonstrable experience in UI design, including interaction design.
  • Exceptional UI design skills with a strong understanding of user-centred design principles.
  • Already using AI tools to enhance and accelerate your design process, with the ability to demonstrate how.
  • A portfolio showcasing your previous work. Please submit this with your application. We want to see hands-on examples of your designs in action.
  • Able to travel to the Goodwood Estate on a regular basis. We understand the importance of flexible working, but this role is highly collaborative.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, with the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Ability to think deeply about design, products and interactions, with a strong understanding of design principles.
  • Understanding of the technical implications of design decisions and the ability to communicate effectively with developers.
  • A great eye for detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and keeping up to date with emerging technologies and design trends.
  • Excellent organisational, time and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and gain stakeholder buy-in.

You're a standout candidate if you:

  • Have experience working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and understand how code can help bring designs to life. Experience with Storybook and AI-enhanced workflows would be advantageous.
  • Can demonstrate how motion design has been used thoughtfully to enhance digital experiences.
  • Have experience using behavioural analytics tools such as Medallia, Clarity or FullStory to inform design decisions.
  • Have worked on e-commerce and/or event-focused projects with demonstrable results.
  • Have a flair for UX copywriting and understand the importance of effective microcopy.

What you'll get

  • Free event tickets, including Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Horseracing fixtures.
  • Group Performance Share Scheme.
  • Health cash plan.
  • Free gym and health club membership.
  • Access to a comprehensive wellbeing programme.
  • A range of training and development opportunities to support your career growth.
  • Regular social events and team get-togethers.
  • The opportunity to work in a unique environment at the heart of the Goodwood Estate.
